VILLAGE BAKERY & CAFE
53 Main St, Center Ossipee, NH
Village Bakery & Cafe is one of the newest local businesses in Center Ossipee.

The owners, Stacey and Tom Daigle, opened the cafe only recently, but the place quickly became lively and received strong support from local residents.

The cafe opens early in the morning, making it a convenient place to stop at the beginning of the day for breakfast, a hot drink, or something fresh from the display case.

During the shoot, one thing that stood out was how diverse the audience is. You can see older visitors, families, and younger people sitting at the tables.

For such a new place, it already has the feeling of a familiar neighborhood cafe, where people come not only to eat but also simply to spend a little time.

Center Ossipee is also on the route of many people traveling through this part of New Hampshire, so Village Bakery & Cafe naturally works as an easy stop along the way.

Baked Goods and Atmosphere
One of the most noticeable features inside is the large display filled with desserts and fresh baked goods, which immediately draws attention.

Visitors often mention the quality of the food and its homemade character, which fits well with the atmosphere of a small independent business.

The owners and staff are often described as friendly and attentive. The interaction at the counter becomes just as much a part of the experience as the food and the interior itself.

Part of the Local Community
For a business that is only about a year old, Village Bakery & Cafe has already found a confident place in Center Ossipee.

It has become another reason to stop in the center of the village instead of simply driving through on the way to another part of New Hampshire.

That is probably the most interesting part of its story. Village Bakery & Cafe does not yet have decades of history or a historic building like some neighboring businesses - its story is happening right now.

My Role as a Photographer
During the shoot, I wanted to show Village Bakery & Cafe first of all as a lively, welcoming place. That is why it was important for me to photograph visitors of different ages, staff at work, people sitting at the tables, the displays, and everyday moments of interaction.

My goal was to use the photographs to convey the feeling of a new, warm, and accessible place that feels equally natural for a local resident or someone traveling through Ossipee. I wanted visitors to the Explore Ossipee website to see these images and feel that this is a place worth stopping at during their trip.
